Rabbit Air has released its newer product for the COVID-19 pandemic, the more powerful, wall-mountable flagship Rabbit Air A3. The device still keeps its predecessor in check, even though it raises the price even higher. But is the Rabbit Air A3 worth your money? Let’s find out in our Rabbit Air A3 Review.

Rabbit Air A3 Price
The Rabbit Air A3 is every bit as good as the best air purifiers you can find from Blueair or IQAir in this price range. Yes, its ranking tells us that. It looks great, optimizes the fan power and design, and stands out in a crowd. Rabbit Air made lofty promises for this air purifier, and it delivers on the most important, even though the fan power isn’t as good as we’d hoped (still, its design makes up for that compromise).
The Rabbit Air A3 was announced two years ago, but sadly, we can’t get one until now. The price starts at $749 for all 4 customized options, but any different painting adds $20 more. Rabbit Air likes to price its air purifiers slightly higher than the competition, so the Rabbit Air A3 is unquestionably more expensive than the Blueair HealthProtect 7470i.
There will be no lite and pro modes for this Rabbit Air A3 like the previous Rabbit Air MinusA2, and it’s necessary to position it firmly as the new flagship. The air purifier costs as much as the Blueair HealthProtect 7770i when it’s on sale, and that’s a bold comparison, as the latter has been the best air purifier we’ve tested for years.
Though the Rabbit Air A3 rarely goes on sale, we recommend everyone check our deal before buying one to make sure you find a good price.

Rabbit Air A3 Design and Size
The Rabbit Air A3 has a distinctive design compared to the rest of the air purifier market, and I like the overall look, but it’s not my favorite air purifier for mobility, like the Blueair HealthProtect 7770i. It does have the same core as the previous Rabbit Air MinusA2 and can be wall-mounted. However, this time the Rabbit Air A3 is able to be put on the floor.
Rabbit Air likes to talk up its design style options, with standard black and white and many old and new paintings. The new “Irises” and “Vase of Flowers” look nice, but the old Starry Night is still my go-to option.
It doesn’t feel bigger than the MinusA2 in my memory, at 19.7 inches in height and 19 inches in width. Fortunately, mounting the Rabbit Air A3 on the wall is a simple process. It does feel thicker than its predecessor, so overall, I think the build is sturdier. The Rabbit Air A3 is a floor unit, so the control panel is on top, and the old LED notification is also near the top.
There is a big advantage to a wall-mounted air purifier: the airflow path can work a lot better than that of other floor units. Rabbit Air A3 has a simple bottom-to-top airflow system concept, with the clean air being output 360° around the front panel.
Though the device’s design accounts for much of the Rabbit Air A3’s low fan power, the device itself isn’t portable after all. It weighs 20.3 lbs, so you can move it to another room, yes, but I recommend mounting it in one place.

Rabbit Air A3 Filters
The number of filters and air filter types are the most important factors in determining an air purifier’s power. Rabbit Air A3 is an improved model of the excellent Rabbit Air MinusA2, so there are no compromises.
- Pre-filter – The polluted air must pass through a pre-filter, where it will capture all large particles, along with dust mites and some pet hair. It is washable and permanent.
- Medium Filter – Traps large pollen, pet dander, mold, and dust particles that are too small to bypass the pre-filter.
- Activated Carbon filter – Eliminates odors, smokes, and chemical vapors.
- Advanced BioGS HEPA Filter – It is a True HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of allergens, virus particles, pollen, mold, and fungi particles down to 0.3 microns. Rabbit Air advances its air filter process, thereby extending the HEPA filter’s optimal filter effectiveness and filter life.
- Customized Filter – Chooses from a variety of customized filters including Germ Defense, Pet Allergy, Odor Remover, or Toxin Absorber. It can increase the efficiency of this air purifier.
- Ion Generator – It either traps the particles in other filters or drops them onto the floor, where they can be picked up by your vacuum instead of accidentally inhaled. Can be switched on/off.
The Rabbit Air A3’s main BioGS HEPA is even thicker and bigger than the previous, if I recall correctly. It looks and feels a lot like the best of Blueair and Sharp at the moment. Simply by looking at it, I’m confident that the new HEPA will perform at least as well as the old ones. And we will test it soon.
At its core, it is the Advanced BioGS technology from Rabbit Air that prolongs the life of the HEPA filter. Because it inhibits the growth of bacteria and viruses on the filter, the BioGS HEPA filter can last up to two years without needing to be replaced. Dual pre-filters also help reduce airborne particles before they contact the main HEPA filter.
If you are a filter enthusiast who loves both quantity and quality of the air filters, then it’s hard to find an air purifier with more filters than the Rabbit Air A3. Its filter kit includes an additional customized filter, whereas a low-cost device like the Levoit Core 300 only provides a different coating. The customized filter (in our case, the Germ Defense filter) is engineered like an Activated Carbon filter with an antibacterial coating. Other options you can customize are the Odor Remover, Pet Allergy and Toxin Absorber.
Still, the Rabbit Air A3 has an ion generator to help improve performance. It will remain the last line of defense to trap any tiny pollutant particles and send them back to the physical filters.
Rabbit Air A3 releases an amount of ozone at just 0.002 ppm, which is 25 times less than the 0.05 ppm maximum ozone safety standard set by the California Air Resource Board. You can also turn it off, though.
The Rabbit Air A3 performs well against the big guns in this price range, where only the finest air purifiers are competing. Its fan power, despite being lower, can clean 99.95% of any particles as small as 0.3 microns in our test, matching the performance of the Medify MA-125 and Airmega 400. It is also better than the Alen BreatheSmart 75i and poses a big threat to this air purifier on our lists.
We all expect an increase in its air filters, but the Rabbit Air A3 doesn’t ask too much at only $115 for a full set. Because the BioGS air filter can last for up to 24 months, the annual filter cost of this air purifier is really good.

Rabbit Air A3 Room Coverage
The Rabbit Air A3 is destined to be more powerful than its predecessor and to push the brand name into the high-end range. I’ve been very impressed with how well the Rabbit Air MinusA2 handles large rooms at its maximum fan power. The Rabbit Air A3 is supposed to clean 1000 square feet, right at its name (SPA-1000).
The ACH of Rabbit Air A3 is 2X for normal residential use and up to 4X for allergy sufferer. Note that a 4X ACH translates to an air purifier that can clean a room four times in an hour, which means this Rabbit Air A3 will clean a room at least once every 15 minutes, but for a space of only 535 square feet.
The CADR of Rabbit Air A3 is 262 Dust/ 257 Smoke/ 315 Pollen (cfm), which nearly doubles the fan power rating of the older SPA-700. You can argue that the fan power of the Rabbit Air A3 is lower than most of its competitors, but really, the wall-mountable design helps it operate much better and quicker.

Rabbit Air A3 Sound
An air purifier like the Rabbit Air A3 should run noisier due to higher fan power, but that’s always been the way I wanted them to run. The thicker build and the fact that I mount it high on the wall simply dampen the noise to very low levels.
Thanks to the Brushless Direct Current Motor technology that uses coiled copper wires along the outside in order to move the electric current along, the fan runs quietly because it isn’t overheating. Rabbit Air A3’s noise level is only 20 decibels (dB) at its lowest speed, meaning it’s quieter than even the SPA-780.
Even at the highest speed, the noise level only reaches 51 decibels (dB), which may be lower depending on where you place the Rabbit Air A3.

Rabbit Air A3 Power Consumption
One of our most FAQs is “Do air purifiers use a lot of energy?” In fact, air purifiers must be used for a long time to be efficient. And power consumption is one important criterion to review to determine if this air purifier is good or not. Below is a simple comparison graph to show exactly how efficient a Rabbit Air MinusA2 is in your home.
The Rabbit Air A3 maintains the same specs as its predecessor, with a power consumption that can be as low as 5 watts and peaks at 60 watts. It could be the most efficient air purifier for the fan power, because others in its price range like the Blueair Classic 480i need 90 watts to operate at the highest fan speed, and the Austin Air Allergy Machine runs at 132 watts.
Rabbit Air A3 is actually more energy efficient than its brothers, and it costs you from $16 to $25 a year, assuming you run it at least 8 hours per day.

Rabbit Air A3 Additional Features
There isn’t much to say here because the Rabbit Air A3 has the same features as its brother, the Rabbit Air MinusA2. Don’t be mistaken, the Rabbit Air A3 gets the best features ranking on our list.
First, the Smart Sensor is what you should expect from a high-end air purifier. It is as accurate as you’ll find on any high-end air purifier, holding its own against the Blueair HealthProtect 7770i. Well, repeating again, the Smart Sensor can sense the change in air quality and adjust the fan speed automatically based on the air quality in your room. With this technology, your air purifier will be more energy-efficient and help you save energy.
The light sensor is included to dim the light and switch the Rabbit Air A3 to a sleep mode that suits you perfectly when sleeping. A series of LED mood lights can give you instant light whenever you need it.
And this Rabbit Air A3 is Wi-Fi compatible, so you can remotely control it with an application (available for both iOS and Android).
The filter replacement indicator will remind you when to wash the pre-filter as well as change the kit of air filters.

Rabbit Air’s warranty policy is one of the most comprehensive in the air purifier industry, covering all defects in workmanship and materials for a period of five years. The manufacturer doesn’t give you any special rules or fine print to honor its warranty, which is really awesome.

The new flagship from Rabbit Air, with 6 stage of air filtration, wall-mountable. Has better performance for large rooms, comes with original Germ Defense filter.
Our verdict
The Rabbit Air A3 outperforms the Rabbit Air MinusA2 in terms of performance and design, but the difference is $139. Again, I think it is easily the number one choice for people who want only the best wall-mountable air purifier, but when it needs to compete against the Blueair HealthProtect 7770i, things will be more difficult. Yes, the Blueair model is better on all fronts.
